In a contest that went back and forth the Patrick Henry Patriots would take advantage of opportunities and push across a run in the bottom of the fourth and never look back.

Patrick Henry (3-0) offensively got going in the bottom of the second inning starting with a double by Lauren Nett (2-3, R, RBI, 2B) followed by consecutive walks by H. Jenks (1-2, R), Laila Spracklen (1-1, 2R) into run for Jenks, and Savannah Sutton. So with the bases loaded up stepped Sydney Newton who took a 1-2 offering and lined a base hit to center which brought home Nett to make it 1-0, Maya Dickerson (1-1, RBI) followed with a base hit to left field which scored Spracklen to make it 2-0.

The Patriots would extend their lead in the bottom of the third inning with a couple more runs to extend their lead to 4-0. A miscue in right field off the bat of Jessica Dewitt started things followed by consecutive doubles by both Olivia Gigante (1-3, R, RBI, 2B) and Nett.

Despite trailing the Valhalla Norsemen (1-3) didn’t go down and were able to tie the game in the top of the fourth inning at 4-4.

With one out Samantha Green reached on an error, Kelly Olson (RUN) walked, Maryn Jordan (1-3, R, 2 RBI, 2B) roped a double which brought home both Green and Olson, Yanely Gonzalez (1-2, R, RBI, 2B, 2 SB) doubled in Jordan to make it 4-3 and Gonzalez would actually steal both third and home to tie the score.

The Norsemen momentum wouldn’t last as the Patriots took it right back in the bottom of the fourth on a two-out rally. With two outs, Kaiah Altmeyer (1-4, R) would hit a ball to short that was misplayed allowing Altmeyer to reach, Dewitt followed with a single which advanced Altmeyer to third base and Gigante hit a fly ball that was misplayed which allowed Altmeyer to score to make it 5-4.

Patrick Henry would go on to score an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth inning on a Chloe Wilson roped double which brought home Jenks who led off the inning with a single.

Jenks in the top of the sixth inning was able to retire the Norsemen in order to end the contest.
