Multiple Teams · Coach Nate Nelson Bio

Nate comes to Henry after coaching collegiately at Stanford, Princeton and West Point. Originally from San Diego, Nate was a three-year starting safety and wide receiver at Scripps Ranch High School. After graduating, Nate attended UC Davis and played safety, lettering four-years. His senior year, Nate was a defensive captain and an honorable mention All-American. Upon graduation, Nate was the defensive coordinator for St. Mary’s Stockton from 2002-2003.

In 2004, Nate served as the defensive assistant at Stanford University. Following that season, Nate was an assistant defensive back coach at Princeton University, specializing in corners and various special teams roles. In 2006, Nate returned to Stanford as the recruiting coordinator and specialists coach. The recruiting class included several future NFL players, including Doug Baldwin and Coby Fleener. Following that year, Nate took over as the defensive coordinator for the Army Prep School at West Point.

Nate has spent ten-years in the financial services industry and resides in Mission Hills with his wife Joy and eight-year old daughter Althea.
