Letter From Coach Gary McMinn
Hello to the Patrick Henry Golf Team Members and Parents,
Golf is a great game and I often think of it as a metaphor of life. It can bring great joy when you win, yet at times great frustration when you don’t. Golf always challenges your skills, but even more your mental capabilities and your character. If you are a true golfer you always practice and try and get better and even when you aren’t at your best you never give up. Hopefully, some of the things you have learned on the golf course will help you in this period of challenging times.
Unfortunately, our 2020 season won’t be completed this year by something beyond our control. I want to thank each and every one of you for your participation on the team and for your efforts during our shortened season. I’d also like to thank Coach Ryan Miller for his contributions. We have a young team this year with only one senior, Travis Martinez. Travis played on the team all four years and qualified for the CIF Tournament the past 2 years and would have again this year. Thank you Travis for your participation! You are a talented young man with great skills. Best of luck in the future in whatever you do! I’d also like to thank the parents for their support of the team. In order for a high school golf team to be successful your participation and encouragement of the boys is vital. The best to each of you!
So let’s mark this season as a learning experience and focus on the character attribute of never giving up and always trying to do your best. I look forward to seeing you next year on the golf course so we can continue to work on what we do on the Patrick Henry Golf Team, improve our games, learn some life lessons and have FUN!
Be well and I hope you make the best of the remaining school year and that you have a great summer and play lots of golf!
