CIF-SDS Update Following California State Department of Health Update
We received from promising news from the CDPH Friday morning and after meetings with the CIF-SDS the below information was provided. There is still further guidance needed from the SDUSD and CIF-SDS with concern to specific dates for competition. The most important update is that now red and orange tier athletics will be able to have contests if San Diego County COVID case rates reach the red tier.
For example: Field Hockey is in the red tier, currently SD County is in the purple tier for case rate and they will be permitted to begin contests. (Specific information yet to be released)
For example: Football is in the orange tier, once SD Country is in the red tier (Adjusted Covid Case Rate equal to or less than 14 per 100,000 tests) they will be permitted to begin contests. (Specific information yet to be released for the actual start of the CIF season)
